ONCE AGAIN - BURLAND IS AN ACTIVE FIREWISE COMMUNITY
Our application to regain our Firewise Recognition has been APPROVED!!
Thanks to everyone that sent your mitigation information for the application!
I have received notification from NFPA and the Colorado State Forest Service that they have approved our application and we are once again a Firewise Recognized community.
Thanks to everyone that submitted your hours and/or costs for mitigation of your properties this year. We could not have achieved this recognition without your help and supporting information. We had a total investment (time and/or money) of $92,070.70 for our neighborhood!!
I have heard from some residents that having this recognition back in an active status has helped them receive a discount on their homeowners insurance policy. You should check with your insurance company to see if any discounts might be available for your property.
Thanks to everyone for all your help and support!!!

To maintain property values and the quality of life in Burland Ranchettes by upholding the protective covenants;
-
To promote the continuing actions of our residents and residents of the adjacent communities in performing fire mitigation on properties to reduce the negative impacts of wildfire;
-
To maintain Weakland-Fawks Park, a private 28.36 acre parcel owned by the Association;
-
To provide a corporate structure to facilitate insurance, contractual relationships, and communications to residents in Burland Ranchettes and neighboring communities regarding matters that are related to the Association's purposes;
-
To provide opportunities for meeting neighbors; community building activities and enrichment at Weakland-Fawks Park, including volunteerism in maintaining and improving the Park facilities. Please send your ideas to the Events Committee at burlandhoa@yahoo.com!
-
To help lower homeowners’ insurance premiums at many companies by maintaining our Firewise Community status through continued education and mitigation assistance;
-
To contribute to the Burland community through the $5000 college scholarship program to a Platte Canyon HS or home-schooled PCHS area graduating.
